Dr. Dabber

All views shared here are my personal views. I am not paid nor have I received any product for free. I bought and paid for these. I am an Ohio Medical Patient.

I will be comparing her to my current daily carry- the Focus V Aeris.

Unboxing:

I had an opportunity to take advantage of the 420 Sale that Dr. Dabber had over this last holiday. If this is your hobby, you know you have your favorite YouTuber who does these product reviews. We all watch them. A lot of the videos as a whole are about how they hit, they never seem to talk about how friendly the products are for the disabled community as a whole.

My hands suck. I mean really truly suck. Usually, I can tell if I am going to like something just from picking up the UPS box. I had ZERO clue that this box contained not one, but TWO e-rigs. The label alone was so discrete, that I had zero clue they could be here. (these were supposed to be here Friday, not getting reviewed this week!!) I knew I only had one UPS package this week and who it was. So if you’re looking for discreet packaging… Yup.

The Ghost 2

One of the biggest issues I have being a female, disabled cannabis user is that so many of the machines on the market are HUGE. Heavy, bulky, just not friendly. This thing? SMALL. I am talking the box itself is within 5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide. Most importantly: it’s small enough for a girl pocket. And at only 7 oz, it doesn’t pull my dresses down and make things look and feel very off balance.

SMALL. ENOUGH. FOR. MY. POCKET.

I can throw this thing in a small purse, pocket, etc with a small container and a hot knife and be done for the day. That alone is so worth it. I had been carrying the Focus V Aeris. I love my Aeris but it’s awkward. It’s too big for my pockets. Almost too heavy for a light purse I would carry in my chair. I loved her because she works amazing. She’s just not very disability friendly.

The entire top needs to come off her to reload. So you have to find a place to put the sticky lid that you’re going to put your mouth on. Then you need to drop your dab, make sure everything slips together ok..

Not This.

THE. TOP. FLIPS. OPEN. Like it flips open and stays there. And it stays. Without holding it.

NO MESS. NO STICKY. NO WEIRD LINT.

Because you know what happen after you’re done smoking right? You gotta clean her up. So that top is gonna need to come open yet again. So more chance for sticky. More chance for the top to fall and hit the ground/floor and be icky. The downside is, because the ghost is smaller, you cannot put as much in.

The upside though is the style of heating. The Ghost 2 uses a radial style heating. This means instead of just the bottom heating, the entire thing heats. The sides. The bottom. EVERYTHING. What does that mean? Even, equal heating of your goods. You spend more than enough on your “stuff,” don’t let it taste bad. In addition, you have three heat settings- you can do hotter at the beginning and cooler at the end or cooler at the beginning and hotter at the end. My personal favorite is a steady heat throughout.

In Use:

Want the other pro to this little guy? ONE button. That’s it. Since this little buddy is so tiny, you can do everything with one hand. You don’t need an app. You don’t need anything but the little guide.

But Syddy, what little guide?? The one they include in every single package as part of their packaging. And both are fully able to be gently torn out and kept close. The kicker? Both written and picture instructions. Again, I am pushing that this is a great little one hand use machine. But the fact that its so easy to change your settings, bonus. I took a picture of both and used my phone as a quick reference. The QR code in the bottom left is also a site for instructions on use.

The mouthpiece is a small hole built into the side of the unit itself. Very discreet and looks like a standard nicotine vape. The mouth piece does come off for easy deep cleaning. Mouthpiece is tiny but covenant.

Tempature:

The Aeris does allow for multiple customizations within the app. Temps can be adjusted to any temp you prefer. If you like 425f? Great. You like a 1 minute timer? Do it. The Ghost 2 only allows for you to use one of their 5 temp settings (420, 450, 480, 510, 540.) I am a fan of being able to adjust my temps on the fly but I do like how easy it was to change. Again, no app needed like you would with the Aeris.

Another giant difference I would like to note is HOW you get your cloud. The Ghost 2 boasts a full ceramic vapor pathway eliminating the plastic path most companies use. This does improve the taste quite a bit. I was actually shocked by how nice the ceramic ended up being. Replacement Ghost²™ eChambers are available for $26 + shipping. It will be interesting to see what happens when I start to keep track of how often these need changed.

Upon use for a couple dabs in a row,I love how it does not heat the entire e-rig the way that the Aeris heats. I may end up switching back in winter to be able to have my hand warmers again. I also can’t help but also notice that the same temps, same size, my concentrate was used more thoroughly and cleaner than the Aeris. I was also very happy that my concentrate almost tasted like a standard quartz banger. Not quite the same but this has been the closest and cleanest.

Cleaning:

Clean up for both is super easy- a simple glob mop or other form of cotton swab is all you need . WHen i’m done, I will wipe quickly with a little iso so very quick and easy. The Dollar Tree stores in NE Ohio have a pack of alcohol swabs that can easily be carried with it in a pocket or pouch. They’re $1.25 for 10 so not the most economical but cheaper than Randy’s. Lets face it, nothing is cheaper than a bottle of alcohol and a cheap cotton swab.

Battery:

Girlfriend seems to do a good job keeping that one hour of continuous use. Charges nicely within 45/50 minutes. The Ghost 2 does come with its own charging cable . I personally only use the cables that come with my products to ensure that everything is appropraite for the electronic components. I am interested to see her being put to a couple tests.

Cons:

  1. I do not like the protective mouthpiece cover. Its too small. It gets lost and it’s tiny.
  2. The top does heat up with multiple repeat uses. Not as warm as the entire Aeris but still a temp difference.
  3. Carb hole on top is slightly inconvient.
  4. I’ve already lost the mouthpiece.
  5. One color versus the rainbow Focus V always has.

Pros:

  1. Size. I have extremely tiny hands and this fits in the palm of my hand. At 3.5 x 1.7 inches and 7 oz, its a mean, lean, vaping machine.
  2. Cost. $120 versus the $199 of the Aeris. I got mine on a 420 sale for $100. They tend to go on sale around the big stoner holiday calendar.
  3. Accessory costs. Dr. Dabber boasts they make a product that lasts and you shouldn’t need to replace. SInce this is an initial review, I can’t wait to test this theory.
  4. Efficiency. I am using less product with a cleaner experience.
  5. Very friendly to use one handed.
  6. Very easy to clean.
  7. Easy to load at a table, lap, or standing. I have loaded this in my car, wheelchair, and while cooking. Load can also be one handed with a hot knife.
  8. Shipping time. This was ordered Saturday, April 11th and arrived April 15th. MIND BLOWN.
  9. The absolute easiest system if you want to cancel a heat cycle. Just hit the button.
